Indicative itinerary:
- Pick-up at your hotel with a 7-seat air conditioned van, with expert driver and our guide
- Spanish Steps – Piazza di Spagna: a baroque romantic square with fountain and the famous flight of steps in marble. Good area for shopping, if interested
- Trevi fountain – the iconic fountain also shot in “La Dolce Vita” by Fellini, fed by ancient Roman aqueducts
- Pantheon – an Ancient Roman pagan temple turned into a church, containing tombs of important people like the first King of Italy and the Renaissance painter Raphael, famous for his dome with the “oculus”
- Caravaggio’s paintings buried in unknown churches – see some of the most beautiful works by the famous artist going off the beaten path in churches out of the tourist route
- Piazza Navona – famous oval square built over an Ancient Roman stadium, where horse races (Ben Hur style) took place. The square is famous for the Fountain of the four rivers by Bernini
- Trastevere – drive through the most “real” and romantic district of Rome, see the Tiber Island and the former Jewish Ghetto. This area is perfect for a typical lunch.
- After lunch, drive to the Appian Way, an Ancient Roman road still active and disseminated of tombs and monuments.
- See the magnificent Baths of Caracalla, with the possibility to rent virtual reality visors to see how the baths were in the Imperial age.
- Go underground to visit the Christian Catacombs, with a tour led by an expert guide/speleologist – this part of the tour is not private, there might be other people (everything else is private)
- Drive to the Colosseum area and see the famous monument, plus the Roman Forum, from outside, and the Arch of Constantine (the largest in Rome)
- Drop-off at your hotel
