After a short walk, you will reach the most famous fountain of Rome: the Trevi Fountain, a masterpiece of the late Baroque style. The next stage is an ancient Roman temple transformed into a church: the Pantheon. Here you will be amazed at the largest dome built in ancient times and will see the tombs of important persons: the first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II, and the famous artist Raphael.
The tour ends with a visit to Piazza Navona, the elliptic square built on the foundations of an ancient Roman stadium. Here you will see another magnificent work by Bernini, the Fountain of the Four Rivers, facing the beautiful facade of the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone, built by his rival Borromini.

What an adventure! Booking a private guide was the best decision we ever made. As life long Disney fans it was like Fast passing Rome. Our guide, Antonella, had everything arranged for us. Walking past long lines and heading straight to the main attractions was incredible. If you have a limited time in Italy, ask for her help and you can make the most of your time. We had a terrific lunch together and she gave us many options for how to spend our time. The one thing she provided most was context. Just seeing Rome is magnificent enough but the context she gave allowed you to truly appreciate the wonders of what we were seeing. The time we spent was exactly how much we wanted to spend, not a moment less or longer. The flexibility of not waiting for a large group to get together before moving on was well worth the extra money. Antonella has a wonderful sense of humor and a passion for her city that she enthusiastically shares. If we ever make it back to Rome, I hope she is still giving tours.

We had been in Rome before and had tours of the Colosseum and Vatican, but we had never considered other places. This tour showed us places we knew already, but revealed all the stories behind the monuments. There are many hidden gems along the way, that only a knowledgeable guide will show you. Worth every penny.
